I’ve been playing piano pretty much my entire life, and teaching others to play it for almost as long. I started out as a classically trained, high-level pianist — the kind who spent hours perfecting pieces by Bach, Beethoven, and Chopin — but eventually, my musical curiosity couldn’t be contained by one genre.
As an adult, I branched out into pop, jazz, rock, cocktail piano, even country western. (Basically, if it’s got a keyboard part, I’ll play it.) It took me several years and thousands of dollars to gather the information and skills I needed to truly become versatile beyond classical music.
That's when I realized that there were almost no well-designed, progressively structured educational tools for adults learning piano. What I found instead were lots of tips, tricks, hacks and random advice that really slowed down my progress.
When I first started my YouTube channel, my goal was simple: to give people complete, high-quality piano tutorials that don’t rush through the important parts. But as my audience grew, I noticed the same kinds of questions coming up again and again — questions about technique, theory, and how to actually practice in a way that gets results.
That’s when I realized YouTube alone wasn’t enough.
So I created what I wished had existed when I was expanding my piano skills: a comprehensive, no-nonsense online piano school built especially for adults.
Since then, I’ve developed dozens of courses and several books that have helped thousands of adult pianists truly enjoy the process of reaching their goals — not through shortcuts or gimmicks, but through real understanding and a realistic and effective system for learning.
My teaching philosophy is simple: adults deserve a real musical education that’s fun, intelligent, and rooted in solid pedagogy. You can’t learn to play piano with “hacks.” But you can learn faster when you actually understand what you’re doing — and that’s what I teach.
